HEEELP :-)

Hello guys, i'm about to start developing my webservice for my app, but i have reached decision point where someone more qualified, could be of use. My app is developed in java, which shoots out JSON to a webservice my question is then, since i've never done this before, Should the webservice be developed in java aswell or is .net just as good? i could imagine there is some compatibility problems when mixing java and c# ?
I'm comfortable in both languages however i think .net is much more efficient than java so that would be my preference(my personal oppionion) Hope you can provide some insight, ty.
