Sorry to touch upon this well trodden subject, but I can't seem to get my head around the issue. I'm a bit of a mobile phone noob. Computers yes, mobile phone.... erm..
My daughter has recently brought a Alcatel Idol 3 phone running Android Lollipop 5.0.2.
It's got a pretty pathetic 2 GB of internal RAM.
She bunged a 32 GB SD card in. Went into setting and changed both Default Storage Location and Preferred Install Location to the SD card.
She then manually moved some of her apps over to the SD card (example being Camera 360).
Now when she tries to update, for example, Camera 360, she gets an "inefficient memory" message.
Now from what I can understand this is the fault of the app itself still looking at the phones internal RAM and not the SD card.
An other issue she is now getting, which might be related, when she takes photos using the phones default app, they now come out black and white. This only seems to have happened since moving apps and changing the settings. Might be unrelated, but thought I'd toss it in for good measure.
I know this is a car of worms type issue from the previous threads written on this subject. But is there a simple way of getting round this without me risking "bricking" her phone.... a fate worse than death..!!
Like I say, really sorry to go over old ground.
