Android TV design for Tablet/phone

Hi everyone, I need some help from you...
I want to make a launcher for a STB on android that I brought. The problem is that the stb work on android 4.4 (API 19). And I want to use the android tv theme Leanback. I've googled but I can't find anything that can help me. I'm new to android and I know here is not the place where to ask how to do from 0 but just a hint or a link to some tutorials will help me. I want to work with keyboard(remote of the stb) and selected item to bring to front like in screenshot. Will it be a GridView or a GridLayout with 6x4 elements? I know how to make a launcher and I have found a lot of tuts on that subject but the only question is design and place shorcuts of apps installed on tablet/phone. Thank you verry much.
