Well if you had a developer edition or pure edition you could. I have the Moto X 2013 Verizon developer edition and have unlocked the bootloader, rooted it and have Xposed running on 5.1

Mofo root's dev stated he would not be updating the tool as the 5.1 bootloader patched the tool.
Sunshine tool doesn't support it on 5.1

And as you know already the official bootloader unlock won't let it go through.
