yeah, that is what I heard too... VZW will only allow current UDP customers to continue, or take over, another customer's UDP.
You had me for a bit with 'VW' as that means Volkswagen everywhere.
I had to go back up to the top 
I gave UDP up as I only had it on my personal line, and I needed to add on 2 more smartphones.
So, it was cheaper to just go with the T-Shirt XXL plan as we have ADSL/LAN/WiFi at home w/unlimited use...
Hope you get what you need... I have lived in rural areas nearly all of my working life... 30 years of it in the horse country where internet just did not exist. So, cell towers were it, or nothing.
