"SD Card is blank or has unsupported file system" Moto G3

Hello,
I have got a Moto G3 as a stop gap phone from work while mine gets fixed and I have taken the SD card out of my old one and into the new and I get "Blank SD" and then above message below it as a notification. Pressing the notification asks if I want to format it which I certainly don't as It has all my data etc on there fine. It is definitely a legitimate, good quality class 10 SanDisk Ultra SD card (also been verified with apps) so I don't understand why I'm getting this error. It works fine in two other phones and in SD card reader in Laptop.
With The Moto G3 being a new release this year I assume it can handle class 10 64GB? And it was brand new out the box when I got it I assume it isn't fault with the phone. If I go to mount it it is greyed out too. Any thought's why it wont support it?
